Rock Tumbling Compatibility Checker
Choose two common materials for conservative starting guidance on whether they belong in the same batch, need extra cushioning or should be separated.
Rock Tumbling Compatibility Checker
Choose two materials for a conservative starting assessment. The checker considers common hardness, toughness and fracture behavior; it cannot inspect your actual stones.
Conservative guidance only. Locality, fractures, porosity, weathering and piece size can override a material-level recommendation.
How to use the result
The checker is deliberately conservative. It compares common hardness, toughness and fracture behavior, but it cannot identify your stone or see hidden cracks, weathering and porosity. If the result says “use caution,” a small test batch is better than gambling an entire barrel.
What the checker does not do
It does not promise a polish recipe or guarantee two stones from different localities behave identically. Use the result with the Compatibility Chart, then inspect each piece before loading.
